Explore the heart of this sprawling metropolis, from its colonial buildings along the Huangpu River, to the Yu Garden.

The Bund

Shanghai has long been China’s commercial capital and nowhere is this more evident than from the Bund. A walk along this riverfront promenade takes you past colonial-era financial buildings and provides views across the water to the supertall skyscrapers in Pudong.

Old Town

The most traditionally Chinese part of Shanghai is the Old Town with its well-restored buildings and bustling lanes. At the heart of this area you’ll discover the traditional Yu Garden. Based on classical Chinese designs the garden consists of pavilions, trees, and rockeries arranged around water features according to feng shui principles.
